The Landed Estates team comprises seven partners and 12 fee earners drawn from our agriculture, property litigation, personal tax, planning and private capital teams.



Several partners and fee earners are members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practioners whilst others are qualified as chartered planners and chartered accountants.

The Landed Estates team specialises in advising on



• trusts and other structures that may be used to own landed estates
• the taxation regime that applies to landed estates and/or the structures that own them
• all aspects of planning law
• agricultural law
• landlord and tenant
• property litigation
• environmental law
• the law of succession
• capital taxation and in particular reliefs such as agricultural property relief and business property relief
• heritage assets and in particular the regime applying to conditional exemption

The team is proud to have represented many Landed Estates over several generations. The Landed Estates team believes that the development of longstanding business relationships between clients and their professional advisors is one of the key factors behind ensuring the continued prosperity of the Landed Estate sector.

The team’s Landed Estates client base includes significant estates situated in all parts of the country although the core client base is situated in the North of England. Members of the team frequently travel the length and breadth of the country to meet with and advise clients.
