The Personal Injury team is a specialist team acting for Defendants in employer liability, public liability, occupiers’ liability and motor claims. We act for a number of Local Authorities, as well as other public sector clients, and other large corporate bodies and insurance companies.
We act in “partnership” with our Clients to add value, not just in relation to dealing with the claims, but also by using information gathered in that exercise to assist with risk management and prevent future claims.
The insurance litigation team can analyse a company’s claims history in order to look for trends and patterns and to strive to identify improvements or changes that can be made and that will have an impact on reducing the severity of claims.
The team is led by Alison Gray, Partner, who has over 17 years of experience in defending claims.
Alison is supported by a group of multi-disciplinary fee earners covering legal advice across a wide spectrum.
We have a proven track record in dealing with matters as diverse as industrial disease and fatal accidents at work to road traffic accidents; together with expertise in defending Hand Arm Vibration, noise reduced hearing loss and asbestos-related matters.
In addition to handling claims, we are also happy to provide our Clients with update training in this area of law which is ever changing and growing.
We also have the benefit of our in house Costs team who review and negotiate the best possible settlement of our opponents’ costs.
The changes in the law in relation to costs over the past few years has been so diverse that it is almost impossible to deal with costs issues without a full understanding of the issues and laws involved. Costs can often exceed damages for a substantial number of cases and expertise in dealing with costs claims can be as important to clients as handling the claims themselves.
