Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Dickinson Dees acted for Newcastle Hospitals Trust in the procurement of an innovative ICT joint venture contract. The project was procured under the competitive dialogue process and the procurement team were heavily involved in advising on all procurement documentation and liaising with colleagues in the commercial team in respect of the contractual documents.
Partnerships for Schools
We acted for Partnerships for Schools in connection with the National Contractors' Framework. The Framework is for four years running from 1 January 2007. The Framework will be available for a range of public bodies, including local authorities and academies trusts, to call off contractors from the framework.
The Framework is available for the building of (using public funds, not PFI):
(a) Single School Projects - either Academies or "One Off Schools";
(b) Bundled Projects - generally the construction of two (or more) Academies in one local authority area; and
(c) Batched Projects - the delivery of smaller (<£100 million) BSF projects.
The total value of the framework is approximately £2 billion.
]Dickinson Dees LLP advised on all procurement issues, the construction agreements to be included in the Framework package, the Framework Agreement itself, and all tender documents. We also drafted the mini-competition guidance for framework users.
London Borough of Newham
We are advising a number of local authorities, including London Borough of Newham and Durham County Council in relation to their Building Schools for the Future programmes. These projects are being procured under the competitive dialogue procedure. The procurement team have been advising these authorities in relation to the various documents required to undertake the competitive dialogue procedure and also advising on timetable implications. The team have also liaised with Partnership for Schools’ legal team in relation to the guidance issued by PfS in respect of the procurement process.
London Borough of Croydon
The Procurement Team have advised the London Borough of Croydon on a number of projects including: regeneration projects following the ECJ decision in the Auroux case; a major leisure contract; and a design contest.
