The latest in our series of corporate seminars focuses on updating businesses on issues arising out of the new legislative programme of the Coalition Government. It will cover how to structure a business to achieve your tax aim, whether that aim relates to imminent sales, incentivising employees or structuring shareholder exits. Following on from that, we will look at the implications of the Bribery Act for all businesses. Due to be implemented in Spring of next year, this Act will introduce new anti-corruption offences and we will look at what businesses can do to avoid infringing this Act. Our final topic will be a brief summary of topical issues that have arisen in the employment and commercial field, followed by a question and answer session for delegates.

30/09/2010 Academies - Preparing for Change - YorkClick link for PDF document 28£0.00[book]
The new Government’s proposals are likely to lead to the creation of a large number of new Academies over the next few years. Academies have been part of the education landscape for the last decade or so, but the new regime sees a fundamental change in the type and number of schools that may move to Academy status. From our experience as a leading law firm in the sector, having advised on the creation of a large number of Academies, we are very aware that such projects often throw up a wide variety of legal issues. If you are involved in the creation of an Academy it is vital that you are aware of these issues in advance. We are hosting a seminar to assist local authorities, schools and sponsors alike in considering the implications of the new Academies Bill and legal issues to be aware of when creating a new Academy.
