Dickinson Dees LLP has appointed two new partners - Julian Gill and Will Gunston - to further strengthen its nationally recognised Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team.
Sally Dallow, who completed her training contract with the firm and has been a partner since 2002, has been promoted to Head of the Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team as the current practice head, Jonathan Blair, stepped up to the firm’s managing partner role this month.
Will Gunston joins Dickinson Dees from Osborne Clarke’s London office where he was senior associate in the Restructuring, Turnaround & Insolvency team. With over a decade of experience, he has advised on a wide range of corporate restructuring and insolvency assignments including Bridge Information Systems, Federal Mogul, Cedar Software, Trident Fashions (Ciro Citterio) and AY Bank.
Leading insolvency lawyer Julian Gill joins from Watson Burton, where he was a partner. A specialist lawyer in commercial and insolvency law, he has acted for major banks and insolvency practitioners for almost 20 years. Chambers UK 2008, ranks Julian in the top category of leading lawyers in the North East and says he brings ‘superb technical ability’ to formal appointments and restructuring opportunities. He regularly speaks at national and regional commercial and insolvency law seminars and has considerable experience in partnership and contract law.
“Julian and Will are two formidable additions to an already successful team, fitting in well with the firm’s reputation for quality, excellence and expertise” said Sally Dallow, Head of Insolvency, Dickinson Dees. “Their in-depth experience and national reputations help to consolidate our position as leading law firm in the North East with an increasingly strong national reputation.”
"This role is an excellent opportunity to join a leading national firm with a strong insolvency practice," said Will Gunston, partner, Dickinson Dees. "I very much look forward to further developing the firm’s well-established ABL and bank-led recovery and insolvency practice."
“Dickinson Dees is not only the major player in the North-East region, but has a national reputation for excellence,” said Julian Gill, partner, Dickinson Dees. “The work it delivers for clients is of the highest quality and expanding this out to a wider client base will be a key focus for me in my new role.”
