- On qualification in 1976 Guy specialised in commercial litigation and insolvency matters and for 21 years worked with a major Northern practice, including 19 years as a partner. In 1997 he moved to his present position as a partner in Dickinson Dees.
Guy’s work covers a full range of litigation problems including fraud, disaster recovery and disputes management. In recent years he has handled claims arising out of the Ladbrokes Grove Rail Inquiry, substantial local government arbitration, several large professional negligence claims and major trust litigation.
Experience
As a solicitor Guy has handled a variety of disputes over the years for clients from all walks of life. These include significant commercial disputes where the amount in stake has been in many millions of pounds, work with an international flavour (including variously USA, most of Europe, Uganda, South Africa, The Middle East and China); in the field of fraud Guy has played a leading role in litigation (both in criminal and civil) arising from the collapse of Barlow Cowes and BCCI and has lectured extensively on fraud topics. He also appeared on both terrestrial and digital TV on this topic. He has a particular interest in, and experience of, handling professional negligence claims on behalf of a variety of clients in a number of professions and has a keen involvement in the area of trusts and private client disputes.

Born 1951, educated at Stowe School and Trinity College, Cambridge. Interests include the arts, shooting, France. Married with two children. Lives in North Yorkshire and London.
Apart from his wife and two children Guy’s interests include most of the Arts and most things French.
In addition to his qualification as a solicitor Guy is a trained mediator with substantial exposure to this area of dispute resolution, a member of a subcommittee of the Fraud Advisory Panel and involved in various civil litigation bodies. Member of ILA and FRSA.
