Expertise

    Lorraine is a partner in the Employment Team. She joined Dickinson Dees LLP in 1989 and has specialised in employment law matters since 1991. Lorraine has substantial experience in representing clients across the entire range of claims in the Employment Tribunals, including unfair dismissal, redundancy, wrongful dismissal, breach of contract and all aspects of discrimination. She specialises in equal pay claims.

North Cumbria Acute Hospitals NHS Trust

Lorraine represented North Cumbria Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in its settlement of one of the largest equal pay claims in Europe, involving over 1400 applications

Various NHS Trusts

Lorraine represents a number of NHS Trusts in connection with other large multiple equal pay claims which involve a consideration of various aspects of the national NHS pay and grading scheme known as Agenda for Change.

Health Sector

Lorraine also regularly advises Health Sector clients in connection with a wide range of employment law issues including disability discrimination, conduct related issues, sickness and absence, and grievances related to a variety of matters.

Non-contentious

On the non-contentious side Lorraine regularly advises a range of clients on the content and interpretation of policies and procedures dealing with HR issues, the handling of practical situations in which employment rules and regulations have an impact, the employment law aspects of organisational change, and effective consultation arrangements.

Equal pay in other sectors

As a result of her expertise in this area of law, Lorraine has represented a number of clients in both the public and private sectors in connection with equal pay-related issues.
